Album Design Process

DESIGN PROCESS

1. Request Design

We’ll get you in the production calendar and check in with you to talk vision. Please note, this overall process is lengthy, but worth it. It may take a few weeks to get scheduled for layout.

2. Hide the Undesired

I’ll have you use the ‘hide’ feature in your gallery for whatever you definitely don’t want included from your gallery. See below for visual references.

3. Layout

From there, I’ll use my creative discretion with the remaining photos to lay it out. I consider storytelling, flow, balance, and meaning when designing albums. All photos likely won’t be included, unless upgrading to more spreads. I’ve invested in a premium software service to beautifully allow me to lay this out and have pro vendors for the finishing touches.

4. Proofing

I’ll provide you with a proof and one revision, if necessary.

5. Order

Once you approve, I push it through for you to finalize your order with your checkout code.
(This should be pre-loaded with your log in)

6. Enjoy

Lab production takes approximately 25 business days + shipping time. It will come right to you!
I may want to swing by and photograph it, I love seeing them come to life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos do you get in the 10 page album?

This breaks down to 5 spreads, 10 pages. I’d say each spread is between 1-5 photos. Some photos command a double-page spread to themselves. Anything over 5 tends to get visually overwhelming and gross.

How big is the album?

They are currently offered in 8x8, 10x10, or 12x12.

What is the difference between layflat and fine art?

Lay Flat Albums

Printed on the professional photographic paper known for it's fantastic durability and fingerprint resistant finish, with a choice of linen covers. All Albums are presented in an eco-friendly box.
Minimum of 20 pages (10 spreads) and maximum of 110 pages (55 spreads).

Fine Art Albums

Using pigmented inks on fine art matte paper, this lightly textured album provides museum grade printing and is paired with a raw oatmeal colored linen presentation box.
Perfect for those who are looking to have their memories expressed and preserved in the finest way.
Minimum of 20 pages (10 spreads) and maximum of 100 pages (50 spreads).

What are my album cover options?

Depending on which album chosen, I have a curated a selection of linens, leathers, and leather-likes to choose from. You can see those in your shop details when you click on the albums.

Debossing

You can personalize your album cover with a standard text debossing. There are only 1-2 standard font options included with your album, which you’ll be able to see in the print shop when you finalize for checkout. Custom fonts not available at this time. Color options include gold and white. You can add up to two lines of text. If selecting leather-like, it’s blind debossing, not color.

Turnaround Time

Design process can take up to 4 weeks, depending on my schedule. Once the product has been ordered, it can take up to an additional 4-5 weeks to be printed, bound, and shipped. This is a slower process, but a beautiful result.
