To ensure each family receives the highest level of care, Jess Koehler Photo takes on a limited number of sessions per month. This boutique approach allows us to take the overwhelm off your plate, so you can focus on what matters most.

More than a single session, we see this as the start (or continuation) of your family’s photo story. By building long-term relationships with our clients, we ensure that each chapter we document naturally builds upon the last—creating a visual legacy that grows with your family.

Before booking, we ensure alignment in vision, timeline, and resources—because the right fit matters. The truth is, I know I’m not for everyone, and that’s okay.

Once you’re ready to move forward, securing your session is simple—just sign the contract and pay the session fee. Clients typically invest between $1,250-$1,650. I offer payment options to help with your YES and the pacing of your wallet.

Next, you’ll fill out a questionnaire to help me understand your family and vision. Based on your answers, we’ll have a virtual planning session where I’ll present my recommendations for the best approach to your session. We’ll discuss the ideal location, timing (for the best light and your family’s rhythm), and wardrobe choices that will complement your story and setting. Anticipate 4-6 weeks out for booking your session.

We’ll also start imagining where these photos will live in your home—whether it’s a coffee table album to enjoy daily or a striking statement piece for that empty wall.

Rest assured, you’re in great hands. I’m Type A, opinionated, and here to share my expertise, so you can relax knowing every detail will be carefully considered and executed.

Once we finalize the location during our planning call, we’ll then select the best time and date, keeping in mind the logistics of the location and your family’s needs.

A cozy, intimate session right in the comfort of your own home. In-home sessions offer a unique time capsule of your life, capturing the true essence of your family in its natural environment. These are often the most meaningful and personal images.

To make the most of the session, I’ll ask for photos of your space and we’ll discuss timing to ensure the best natural light is flowing through your windows.

Beyond the prep videos, favorite shops, and Pinterest boards, I take it a step further, because I don’t want you feeling overwhelmed or alone in this process. Think of me as your personal sounding board, here to offer guidance and reassurance every step of the way.

I’ll suggest a look and feel to consider as you go through your family’s closets, helping you curate outfits that feel natural and cohesive. If you’re open, I always encourage tastefully showing a little skin, maybe it’s your toddler running around in just a diaper or your child with their shirt off. These simple, organic moments add to the timeless and soulful energy we’re aiming for.
